Chop-Cloc shortlisted for Sustainable Product Innovation of the Year

The Chopping Company has joined the list of finalists for the Sustainability Leaders Awards 2014. Chop-Cloc, the company’s unique retrofit device that offers a new approach to home heating control, has been shortlisted in the Sustainable Product Innovation category.

Chop-Cloc is easy to fit, easy to use and pays back in less than 12 months. It works by inserting a 15 to 45 minute off period in each hour that the heating is on. This makes no difference to comfort but saves households an average of 16% on their heating bills, with some customers saving as much as 30%.

The Chop-Cloc is receiving increasing recognition as a break-through invention, shortlisted for the Ashden, Greenbuild and Energy Efficiency & Renewables Awards in this year alone. Chop-Cloc was also Highly Commended in the Innovation of the Year category at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards in June.

This year’s award recognitions have been matched by a swell of interest from our business customers, many of whom are responsible for thousands of homes,” commented Sales Director Garry Felgate. “The Chop-Cloc has the potential to revolutionise how we manage heating in our homes, saving carbon, fuel and money. I hope this takes us one step closer to making the product available to all whose who could benefit from it.”

This year has seen a record breaking number of entries for The Sustainability Leaders Awards, which celebrate the very best in sustainable business. Winners will be unveiled at a glittering Awards ceremony in London on 19 November. A full shortlist is available here.
